Professional Standards at New Norcia has been broadened to include Australian Catholic Safeguarding Ltd (ACSL) which was formed in response to the findings of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

Established by the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference (ACBC) and Catholic Religious Australia (CRA), it operates independently of the Church. There are no bishops, priests or religious brothers or sisters on the ACSL Board. ACSL board directors are lay people with professional expertise in the fields of law, education, human services, safeguarding and regulation.

ACSL will audit compliance with the Safeguarding Standards it has produced, holding the leaders and members of Catholic organisations accountable for the safety of children and vulnerable adults who come into contact with the Church and its works.

We at New Norcia are fully committed to align our compliancy with the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards. (Please see our Document Library below.)
